MAN ON FIRE Conference
Fire has an appetite. It tends to treat
everything around it as food to be consumed. Uncontrolled fire can be destructive,
but a controlled fire is beneficial
in providing heat and light.
Scripture uses fire metaphorically to describe
the passion of God and the zeal of his people. That is one reason that Bowie-area men's ministries called their first conference together
MAN ON FIRE --that, and there was a very popular Denzel movie with the same name.
Our November conference is a time to create enthusiasm
and ignite a burning passion for the things of God. We need to
understand that our lives - our jobs, our relationships are not
mundane. When we put our lives in the context of God's purpose, we can see
that every aspect lights the world and glorifies God.
Every year the conference is scheduled on a
Friday night and a Saturday morning. We have powerful motivational
speakers, local Christian bands to lead us in worship, and delicious meals
prepared by local church men and women volunteers.
