Prayer

Lighthouse Features

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone.  - 1 TIMOTHY 2:1

Being a Lighthouse begins with prayer:

Develop a prayer list. Start by listing prayer topics for circumstances and those around you, perhaps the people who live next to you and across the street or hallway, your coworkers or your schoolmates.

Pray for people by name and ask God to minister to their needs - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.  If you don't know their names, pray for opportunities to learn the names and more information about them.

Ask God to use you to demonstrate His love.  Ask God to help you build relationships and show you ways to meet real needs.

Pray also for open doors to share Christ.  As you build relationships, ask how you can best pray for them.

Pray regularly and practice prayer walking in your neighborhood, lifting your neighbor's needs to the Lord as you walk past their homes, offices, cubicles, classrooms, or lockers.  Consider teaming up with one or more Christian friends.  Click here to go to our Prayer Walk page.

...If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. - II CHRONICLES 7:14
