Actually, there is only one church, which is called the
Body of Christ. But, there are many parts each having their own
unique personality and function. (1 Corinthians 12:20) American
churches are subdivided by denominations, and many denomination are
like-wise subdivided by districts. Districts may have many
congregational churches. Some Christian congregations have no ties
to a denominational structure and are called independent churches.
However a Christian church is organized
and structured, they all have common bonds in one Savior, the Lord Jesus
Christ, and the Bible, which is the story of God and the authoritative
rule for life. As you scroll through our list of Bowie-area
Christian churches, we hope that you will see the character of the Lord
Jesus embodied in what their people are doing as they pray, as they show
caring acts of mercy and generosity to their neighbors, and as they
share the good news.
