The care categories below are links to the nearest Christian-based shelters closest to the Bowie area.  A number of churches in the area participate in the "warm nights" program of the community ministries of Prince George's County.

Emergency Food Pantry

Bowie Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund provides assistance (food and other) for families in need. Located at Christian Community Presbyterian Church (CCPC) at 3120 Belair Drive. Hours: M, W, F, 9 to 11 AM. Call 301-262-6765 or email BowieFoodPantry@gmail.com

SHARE supplemental food program of the Bowie Lions Club helps those in need to receive food at low cost. Call 301-262-7694. As always, the Lions collect old glasses and help to provide services to the blind.

Sharing Pantry stores and distributes food parcels and food coupons to the needy in our community on an ongoing basis. Call 301-262-2141, St. Pius X Catholic Church at 3300 Moreland Place.

WARM NIGHTS PROGRAM provides meals and shelter for the homeless in Prince George's County.  Largo Community Church at 1701 Enterprise Road, 301-249-2255, provides home-cooked meals for one night to those receiving shelter at Hope Presbyterian Church.

HELP YOUR NEIGHBOR provides food certificates to needy families and individuals. Largo Community Church at 1701 Enterprise Road, 301-249-2255.

Emergency Clothes & Household Items

MARTHA'S CLOSET is an interfaith service center that provides food and clothing to individuals and families.  Largo Community Church at 1701 Enterprise Road, 301-249-2255.

HOUSE ON A HILL, a ministry of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 16501 Annapolis Road accepts clothing drop-offs Monday through Friday 9:15 to 11:15 am.
